Outreach Commission
Vision from Matthew 25: 35-36: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison, and you came to visit me.”
The Outreach Commission seeks to fulfill the mission of St. Barnabas by providing leadership and awareness to address social issues extending beyond the boundaries of St. Barnabas. Their purpose is to educate and encourage other members and committees of St. Barnabas to minister to the totality of human need.
Several of the programs that the Outreach Commission oversees are:
-
$3,000 to local ministries (St. Mary’s Services, Episcopal Charities, Glen Ellyn Food Pantry and Walk-In Ministry, Peoples Resource Center, ESSE House, Aurora Soup Kitchen)
-
$6,000 to foreign missions (Hesse Family, Indonesia; DuBert Family, Mozambique; Fitzgerald Family, Cameroon)
