Pastoral Care Commission
Purpose: to maintain a ministry to help meet the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the whole person in the congregation.
The primary activity of the Pastoral Care Commission is to provide oversight of the committees under its ministry. As Christ’s disciples, we will share our faith and serve the greater community.
Several ministries of this Commission are:
Prayer Team: People on this team will be praying for everyone in the Directory, people on the Intercessory Prayer List and people in need.
Prayers behind the Altar: Prayers and anointing with oil are provided behind the altar after Communion by a team of people.
AARP: Meetings are held at St. Barnabas on the first Tuesday of the month. Topics covered range from health issues, needs available for seniors, entertainment, exercise for seniors, etc... People come from the surrounding communities.
AA & EA meetings: Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held on Tuesday evenings and Emotions Anonymous meetings are held on Monday mornings.
Helping Hands: This program provides emergency meals and rides when needed.
Counseling: Clergy - This service is provided by the clergy when needed
